Does your diary look like this? Totally empty?

You’ve nothing coming up, no bookings for parties and you’ve got no idea on where you’re going to get those next bookings. It’s make or break time.

How would it feel if you had bookings for parties and events each week? Imagine….

Here are 10 things you can do right now to revive your diary.

  1. Hold your own event.
Book yourself in a date for next week. Online or offline, it’s totally your choice. (Although as I write this we’re half in Covid lockdown!) Invite loyal customers personally, any friends who love your products and ask them to bring a friend.
  2. Think about who you know
Make a list of all the people you know who you think may host an event and start some conversations. You never know where they might lead.
  3. Look through past hosts
Who has hosted an event before? It’s been a while so they may be ready for another.
  4. Have a party swap
Who do you know from another direct selling company that you can do a party swap with? You hold one for them and they hold one for you.
  5. Hold a fundraiser
Do you have a charity or good cause close to your heart? Or do you know someone else who is fundraising at the moment. Maybe there is a national coffee morning or 5K race coming up you can support. Hold a fundraising event with your products. A percentage of the sales can go to the charity whilst you meet others who will buy and book future fundraisers or parties.
  6. Customer care time
Who’s bought of you in the past? Do they need a top up? Is there anything on offer that they would probably love to add to their collection? Why not just get in touch to say thank you or to send them a copy of the latest catalogue? Offer them a party or event. Maybe they could get some of their next order free?
  7. Think about how you offer
Think about how you talk about holding an event for you. Offer don’t ask. There’s got to be something in it for them to host for you. That could be a fun night in, free product, a discount on that item they wanted but couldn’t afford, fundraising for charity. They’re more likely to say yes if there is a benefit to them.
  8. Theme your parties
How about Wine Wednesdays, Fruity Fridays, Party in your PJs, Cocktail Night, Pamper Night? So much more fun that just an event. Talk about themes in your Facebook group. Ask which one they would pick then message them to put a date in the diary. Make it sound exciting and different.
  9. Have an added incentive
Bribery always works well for me when I have a gap in my diary. “Fill these dates and there’s an extra freebie in it for you.” There’s all sorts of things you can do for this. Book a party and pick a prize, pop a balloon, pull a cracker, open a door on an advent calendar. Make the gifts desirable but not out of your budget. It’s more about the fun.
  10. Learn to seal the deal
If someone says they’ll ask their friends and get back to you either set an arranged time to be back in touch or offer to pencil them in so they don’t miss out on a date. It can always be moved. Make it clear that it doesn’t matter how many attend and it’s normal to only have three or four. Some of my best parties have been me, the host and two friends. Whatever happens you’ll all have a good night.

Follow these tips and you’ll soon have a full diary.
