Tip 1 – Start with a goal

This might sound a bit strange and nothing to do with getting new customers, but this is a crucial step most people miss out on. Knowing your goal and what your end result will be is crucial to understand how many customers you are going to need to make the sales you require. That end goal will also give you the drive to go out and do what it takes to get there.

Write down your goal. However big or small it is. When do you want to achieve it by? Then working backwards, break it into smaller, achievable chunks.

For example you want to be selling £1000 products per month. Each week your goal will then be approximately £250 sales. That’s roughly £50 per day Monday to Friday.

How many customers do you need each day to reach your end goal?

How many new people do you need to speak to to get one new customer?

What actions do you need to take each day to find that new customer?

When you know all this and your goal is clearly broken down then you know what you’ve got to go out and do. This will then make the process of getting new customers more actionable, more meaningful, less overwhelming and you’ll have far more drive to do it.
